What We Do

Medical First Response

We provide immediate medical assistance as a first responder to emergencies in our community. Our trained personnel are equipped with the latest medical tools and knowledge to stabilize patients in critical situations, whether it's a medical emergency, accident, or injury. We work closely with Burke County EMS to ensure swift and effective care.

We handle approximately 2400 calls each year with a majority of those being emergency medical responses in the city limits of Morganton.

Search and Rescue

When people go missing or are in danger in the wilderness or other challenging environments, like the Linville Gorge, we are ready to respond.

Our team is highly trained in search techniques, navigation, and rescue operations. We utilize specialized equipment and collaborate with other agencies to locate and bring individuals to safety, no matter the circumstances or terrain.

We typically receive around 100 search and rescue calls annually.

Water Rescue

Whether it’s a rescue from a vehicle in a flood, a missing person in a river or lake, or a watercraft accident, our skilled water rescue teams are trained to handle high-risk rescues in swift currents or hazardous conditions.

We receive approximately 25 water rescue calls annually.

Other types of rescues include motor vehicle accidents, machinery and agriculture incidents, confined spaces, structure collapse, and trench rescue.
